Sometimes the best outfits are inspired by clothes from the past or what we like to call a “vintage look.” Many retailers successfully emulate vintage-style clothes for your wearing pleasure to get a chic look that’s outside of the norm yet still fashionable. Here’s our take at the vintage chic outfit trend:
Pictured clockwise starting with the cardigan:
Cardigans come in all sorts of colors and designs, but this striped cardigan shown here from (Chicnova $33) brings back a 60s trend when stripes ruled the catwalk.
A delicate beige chiffon top like the one shown here from (Chicnova $41) is an elegant trending fabric and can have a vintage vibe if worn in the right setting.
This classic black leather shoulder bag shown here from (Choies $88) is a modern twist to a 80s trend that has a chic appeal when mixed with other vintage-inspired items.
Jeweled shoes like the ones shown here from (Footzyfolds $65) provides a fun, modern, element to your vintage chic look and is a nice play on the metal buttons of the striped jacket.
Corduroy pants, like the ones shown here from (Chicnova $54), is a resurrected trend from the 80s that has once again become fashionable and wearable and makes for a perfect vintage-inspired pant.
Fashion week started out with a bang on September 6th and it wrapped up it’s week long fashion festivities in New York City yesterday and is heading to London, Paris & Milan. We’re here to give you the low-down on emerging trends for Spring 2013:
1. Cuffed Shoes
Of course here at Footzyfolds, we love to look at the latest trends in shoes, and it was all about the cuffed ankles for spring.
Sheer tops were another trend to hit the runway at NYFW. Some designers embraced it more than others like Calvin Klein.
3. Black & White
Black & White is a dominant color that was seen throughout many collections at NYFW. Classic colors in any spring collection, they were paired nicely with other trends like stripes.
Cutouts we’re another trend that was seen in various designers clothing. Cutouts in this case were strategically placed and were seen being used in various fabrics and material like leather or sheer.
Stripes are haute for the Spring season. They were simple and sophisticated though and not overbearing.
